Fundraisers & Referrals

Program Terms

Effective October 11, 2026

These terms apply to the Reverse Fundraiser and the Homeowner Referral program offered by Solar Advantage, a dba of Createfirm Services Corporation ("Solar Advantage," "we," "us"). By referring someone or taking part in a fundraiser, you agree to these terms.

1. The Programs

  • Reverse Fundraiser. An eligible organization shares information about Solar Advantage with its community. When a family from that community completes a qualifying installation, Solar Advantage pays the organization.
  • Homeowner Referral. An individual refers another homeowner to Solar Advantage. When that other homeowner completes a qualifying installation, Solar Advantage pays the individual who referred them.

Solar Advantage helps homeowners choose systems and connects them with licensed installation partners, who design and install them. Payments under these programs are made by Solar Advantage.

2. Who Can Take Part

  • Individuals must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States.
  • Eligible organizations include schools, PTAs and PTOs, booster clubs, athletic programs, nonprofits, churches, and community groups. Fundraiser payments are made to the organization, never to an individual on its behalf.
  • Employees, contractors, and installation partners of Solar Advantage, and people living in their households, are not eligible for referral payments.

3. What Counts as a Qualifying Referral

A referral qualifies only when all of the following are true:

  • It is another homeowner. The Homeowner Referral payment is for another homeowner's installation. Your own home, and any home you live in, does not earn a referral payment.
  • It is new to us. The homeowner was not already in contact with Solar Advantage when we recorded your referral.
  • We recorded it first. You told us about the referral through our website form, by phone, or by email before the homeowner signed a contract. If more than one person refers the same homeowner, the first referral we recorded counts.
  • The homeowner agreed to hear from us. The homeowner asked to be contacted, or contacted us themselves.
  • The installation is complete. The homeowner signed a contract and the system was installed and passed final inspection. Contracts canceled before that point do not qualify.

Each home earns no more than one referral payment, or one fundraiser payment, for each installation.

4. Payment Amounts

  • Homeowner Referral: $1,000 for each qualifying installation at another homeowner's home.
  • Reverse Fundraiser, solar and battery: $1,000 to the organization for each qualifying solar and battery installation.
  • Reverse Fundraiser, battery only: $500 to the organization for each qualifying battery added to a home that already has solar.

There is no limit on the number of qualifying installations. Organizations are never invoiced or charged.

5. When and How We Pay

We send payment after the installation is complete and we have received a completed Form W-9 from the person or organization being paid. Payment goes to the person or organization named in our records for that referral, by check or electronic transfer. From a homeowner's first conversation with us to a completed installation usually takes about 3 to 6 months.

6. Taxes and Form W-9

  • Before we can pay you, we need a completed IRS Form W-9. We email you a secure link to fill in and sign it electronically. You can see the official form at the IRS: Form W-9 (PDF, irs.gov).
  • Do not send a W-9 by email or text. It contains your taxpayer identification number. Use only the secure link we send.
  • We may report payments to the IRS on Form 1099 as required by law. You are responsible for any taxes on payments you receive.
  • For tax questions, including how an organization should record a payment, please ask your own tax advisor.

7. How to Refer

When you share Solar Advantage with others, you agree to the following:

  • Only refer people who want to hear from us, and do not send us anyone's contact details without their permission.
  • Do not send spam, use purchased lists, or make automated or prerecorded calls or texts to promote Solar Advantage.
  • Do not promise savings, prices, incentives, tax credits, or financing terms. Our team explains those directly to each homeowner.
  • Do not say that you work for, represent, or speak for Solar Advantage.
  • Do not use the SOLAR ADVANTAGE® name or logo in ads, domain names, or social media accounts without our written permission. Sharing our flyers and website link is fine.
  • You do not sell, negotiate, design, or install anything. Contracts are between the homeowner and the companies providing the system.
  • Organizations never share student or family information with us and never require families to take part.
  • Real estate agents follow their brokerage's rules and their license obligations, including any required disclosure of referral payments to clients.

8. No Purchase Required

You never need to buy anything to earn a referral or fundraiser payment. Referral payments are not offered as a reason for you to sign a contract for your own home, and having or not having a system yourself does not change what you can earn.

9. Our Relationship

Taking part does not make you or your organization an employee, agent, partner, or contractor of Solar Advantage. You cannot make promises or sign agreements on our behalf.

10. Disqualification

We may decline a referral, withhold a payment, or end someone's participation if we believe these terms were broken, including referrals that are self-referrals, duplicates, made without the homeowner's permission, or obtained through misleading statements.

11. Changes and Ending the Programs

We may change or end these programs at any time by posting updated terms on this page. The terms in effect when we recorded your referral apply to that referral. An organization may pause or end its fundraiser at any time by telling us.

12. Privacy

We handle information you give us under our Privacy Policy. Information on your Form W-9 is used only to make and report payments.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. The programs are void where prohibited.
