Meet Ernie Delgado

The Work

Ernie's work centers on utility-scale and commercial energy: power for data centers, large solar and battery storage projects, and energy infrastructure for businesses, manufacturers, schools, and cities. He starts where every good project starts, with the energy need, and then assembles the team that can meet it.

He has strong ties to engineering and manufacturing in India and works with large-scale solutions providers that build data centers and ports. Those relationships give clients access to deep engineering capability and the manufacturing capacity that large projects require.

His work reaches well beyond California. Ernie is helping clients in South America plan and build energy infrastructure and data centers, alongside projects across the United States. He is glad to be doing this work both at home and abroad.

Before energy, Ernie served as a Chamber of Commerce president and a senior business executive, and his professional roots are in education. That mix shows up in how he works: plain explanations, a long view, and a focus on getting the deal right for the owner.

Why Energy

It is personal. Ernie's home burned to the ground in an out-of-control wildfire, and more recently he was in the path of a fire a second time. Few experiences make the value of reliable, resilient power more real.

He lives it at home. Ernie has solar on his own house and knows firsthand that it saves his family thousands of dollars a year. Savings vary by home, rates, and system, but he understands the economics from the homeowner's side, not from a brochure.

He is a father and an educator. Ernie and his wife have a teenage son, and a cat named Romeo rounds out the household. He thinks about the planet his son's generation will inherit, and he is concerned for its future. The energy we harness today is the energy our children will grow up on.

The future runs on energy. Ernie is an AI expert and advocate who has shared his expertise and his view of the future on stages from Los Angeles to Panama City. He is fully aware of how this technology will shape the world, and of what it takes to run it: AI depends on data centers, data centers depend on large amounts of firm power, and that demand is growing faster than the grid. Building that power reliably is one of the defining jobs of this decade.
